We had an amazing time at this mountain resort with its picturesque scenery. the location, near the SAKAKIBARAONSENGUCHI train station, provided a peaceful escape from the city. Our room, a spacious Tatami-style one, offered a true Japanese lifestyle experience. the staff was polite and accommodating, serving us dinner in our room and providing excellent service. We enjoyed the free public bath with both indoor and outdoor options, offering stunning forest views. the American Diner satisfied our non-Japanese cuisine cravings.
Some parts of the building could benefit from a fresh coat of paint.

Great scenic location and peaceful surroundings make for a tranquil retreat. The hot springs were excellent and perfect for relaxation.
The exterior of the building was in need of maintenance and had visible cracks and lack of upkeep.

What a hidden gem! This onsen hotel is located in a serene and natural environment, perfect for relaxation. the open, air hot springs are amazing, with a breathtaking view of the mountains and forest. the staff is polite and welcoming, and the Japanese, style room with tatami flooring and futon beds add an authentic touch. the food is delicious, and it's great that they offer an American, style menu for those who prefer it. the shuttle service is convenient and efficient, making it easy to get there from the nearest train station.
The location is a bit isolated, so it's important to plan accordingly in terms of transportation and activities. the public areas can get crowded during peak hours, but that's only a minor inconvenience compared to the overall lovely experience of staying at this spa resort.
